I'm somewhat at a loss for what to say here beyond HEY GUYZ PURPLE IS MY FAVORITE COLOR, so bear with me as I try to brainstorm something clever-er.
[But really - I bought these pants on final sale from J.Crew Factory and while they might possibly be the slightest bit small, I don't even care. They're purple and they're awesome]
Another day, another clinical outfit photographed on my balcony. I swear I'm going to leave my apartment again one of these days, guys.
This actually wasn't from a "traditional" clinical skills session, but instead from our last patient simulation for neuro. This sim lab centered around a patient with delirium tremens ["the DTs"] from alcohol withdrawal. I actually ended up with my boyfriend's mother as the proctor for our group, because she's a psychiatrist with the university med center and the world is just so small like that.
Anyway. Important (re-)learned facts that I had already forgotten from the previous weeks - chlordiazepoxide is a benzodiazepine approved for use in alcohol/benzo withdrawal only in patients with normal liver function. For patients with compromised livers, you use the LOT benzos - lorazepam, oxazepam, and temazepam. Boom. Now you too know a clinically relevant pharmacological tidbit.
