Boyfriend and I popped back over to campus today to snap a few photos of him looking fancy in his graduation regalia before he turns the cap and gown back into the school tomorrow. Then I talked him into taking a few photos of me, because I haven't left my apartment for anything other than barre class all week and I wanted to do something for a blog post while I wasn't standing on my balcony.
It's actually really disappointing to me that we merely rent our graduation gowns. It sounds like such a normal thing, but, considering I've previously had to purchase the graduation stuff for both my high school and college ceremonies, this means I'm not going to have the complete "set" when I finish medical school. I'll only have the hood, which is admittedly cool enough on its own, but still. It's going to drive me a little nuts.
Anyway. This weird shrine to Hippocrates is something my school built on campus last year, and it's already the butt of many jokes. There are lots of odd little quotes inset into the tiles around the statue that were featured in a hilarious piece during skit night. All in all, clearly an excellent use of our tuition money.
