OMG OMG OMG YOU GUYZ DID YOU HEAR IT'S TIME FOR NORDSTROM'S BIG SALE?
Yeah okay. Eyeroll.
In case you've been out actually living your life and have missed the news, Nordstrom opened their big Anniversary Sale to cardholders this week...so of course bloggers all over the interwebs have been freaking out about how this sale is better than Christmas morning and trying to get you to buy $300 boots and impractical coats and other such "fall essentials." And if you're anything like me, you're sitting on your couch rolling your eyes at all the craziness....while browsing the sneak peek access nonetheless. The sale this year is...not great. Admittedly I'm not normally a devoted Nordstrom patron and I don't have a lot of disposable income to waste, but I'm still underwhelmed by the offerings this time around. But of course I still dug through the various categories, because I'm nothing if not a shopaholic who likes to earn a few cents every now and then. So here we are - requisite Nordstrom sale post. You're welcome.
All of my picks below are under $50, because that's how student life works, with the exception of those cute boots I included - which still clock in under $100, so they're not too terrible. Go forth and window shop! And let me know if there's some sort of hidden gem in the sale finds that I'm just not seeing.

The offerings in the way of affordable business casual-type apparel and comfy-yet-professional shoes were incredibly disappointing, to say the least - a handful of tops, a couple of pencil skirts, and a few pairs of dress pants. I've been trying to stay away from sleeveless tops, as exposed underarms are technically against my hospital dress code now, but I find myself oddly drawn to the interesting neckline on the top I included above. It's different, and something about that speaks to me.

You know, I've actually had my eye on Topshop's Jamie style of jeans [#11 above] for a while now, so I'm actually quite pleased to see them included in this sale because any money I can save is appreciated. There's also a pretty good selection of activewear highlighted in the sale - largely from Nordstrom's in-house Zella brand, but you can also find a few pieces from more "prestige" brands like Alo included as well, so all in all not too shabby. AND OMG THAT CORDUROY SKIRT. If I weren't going to be spending 6 days of the week in either scrubs or dress pants, I'd be snatching that up stat. I'm already imagining all the cute fall outfits I could put together with tights and boots [y'know, if I lived somewhere cold], and it makes me happy.

I didn't included any pictures above because that honestly feels like crossing some sort of weird line in regards to life on the internet...but anyway. My favorite bras aren't on sale this year, which is the biggest bummer of all, but some of the "fancier" brands of undies are discounted and may be worth your consideration.
Anyway, that's my two cents. Browse carefully, and don't let all the bloggers get you down.
