I've had the idea to layer this skirt over this dress floating around in my head over the past couple of weeks, but wasn't sure how well it would turn out, so it got set aside. Then this morning I woke up late and ran out of time to iron the dress I had originally intended to wear, and so BOOM - an outfit was born.
I actually really like the way this turned out! At first I was concerned about the sheer amount of grey involved, but I counteracted that during my rush out the door this morning by adding a cardigan to the mix. It went a long way towards making things feel less monochromatic - in addition to downplaying the occasional obnoxious poofing this skirt likes to do around my hips if it's not situated in the right place. No one ever said cardigans serve only one purpose, you know.
