I always see these posts around the interwebs and find myself feeling impressed by all the minor little things people can list about their lives, but I had never attempted one myself before because let's face it -  this is a long list of study to make up.  The most recent round of posts had me more seriously contemplating putting my own spin on things, however, when I realized it could be a "fun" way of broaching the topic of step 1 and how it has taken over my life lately. So here we are. Enjoy.

//

M A K I N G: lots of Step 1 notes?  Wow, that's a boring answer, but it's all I can come up with.  Currently I've got a OneNote notebook going with notes from DIT and an Anki flashcard deck of DIT's rapid fire facts; when I wrap up DIT, I'm moving on to reviewing First Aid + Pathoma and annotating my DIT notes into my copy of First Aid.  Fascinating stuff, truly.  Umm...I've also got a couple on-going knitting projects [a blanket and a scarf] sitting around my apartment, but I tend not to want to knit much during the warmer months, so those likely won't be touched for a while.

D R I N K I N G: lots of water + Barre3's green colada smoothies. There's always a beverage of sort on my desk lately 'cause I get boredddddd and somehow that helps.

W A N T I N G: to be done with Step 1!  Ha.  And also for it to be next month so I can buy the pair of flats I've had my eye on.

W A T C H I N G: DIT videos, all day errrrday.  Coupled with a healthy dose of Friends episodes on Netflix [Boyfriend is watching the series for the first time!] plus Jane the Virgin and Outlander off my DVR.  Watching a little of something is an easy way for me to take a break during the day, especially in the afternoon when I start to get sleepy and need to do something to revive myself.

R E A D I N G: When Breath Becomes Air, FINALLY.  I just finished up The Last Anniversary, and between that and The Husband's Secret I've officially declared Liane Moriarty one of my new favorite authors.

L I S T E N I N G  T O: the Hamilton soundtrack.  A little late to the bandwagon on this, I know, but I generally prefer not to listen to the soundtrack for shows I have yet to see (either on stage or as a movie).  But I found myself with "Alexander Hamilton" persistently stuck in my head for a while there, so I finally caved and started listening to the whole thing on Spotify.

E A T I N G: dinner at the Bluegill at the moment?  Literally.  I've been trying to be good about not keeping too many crazy snacks in my kitchen for the time being, as I've been cooping myself up at home for the past while and I'm a terrible stress eater.  Otherwise, Boyfriend has been tackling most of the meal making lately, because he's wonderful and sweet and trying to learn how to do more on his own.  It's all in the name of giving me more time to stay focused on studying, but let's be real here - I usually end up having to supervise or double check done-ness anyway.

W I S H I N G: for it to be June and for me to be done with all of this madness.  One month from now I'll be doing third year orientation!  The good part is so close!

E N J O Y I N G: this little break from school, even if it is miserable in its own way.  As much as I love what I'm doing, I have to admit, I was feeling pretty tired of lecture by the end of the year.  I'm also loving not having to deal with my classmates, because GOOD GRIEF have I gotten tired of everyone this year.  Step 1 really and truly brings out the worst in people.

H O P I N G: for a good score on Step 1?  That's totally a cop-out.

N E E D I N G: a good kick in the pants to make sure I work out tomorrow.

F O L L O W I N G: a bunch of new med students on Instagram!  I love it.  Also, DIT on Twitter because they tweet practice questions every week and it's nice.

F E E L I N G: a little overwhelmed, a little excited, a little stressed, but mostly just pleased with where life is at the moment.

W E A R I N G: this dress, as of right this second.  Boyfriend and I went on a little dinner date tonight, so I put on real clothes and a touch of makeup and pretended to be a human who hasn't been exclusively sitting inside at her desk for the past while.

B O O K M A R K I N G: a bunch of things that I want, like always.  Lately I've been on an activewear kick that involves me window shopping for tanks with clever sayings.

L O V I N G: this new lip stain I just bought from Sephora [in 'Always Red'].  The absolutely beautiful bouquet of flowers Boyfriend bought for our anniversary this week - making my apartment smell heavenly and giving me all the heart eyes.
