This is old news by now, but in case you need a reminder - my class made it to our third year! Goodbye classroom, hello clinical years! We "celebrated" last weekend with our official white coat ceremony, during which we received the fancier coats provided by the school with our names embroidered on them.
White coat ceremonies tend to more commonly be held at the start of the first year of medical school nowadays, but my school retains the tradition of holding its ceremony before the start of the third year. As nice as it would be to not have to buy a cheap crappy coat to hold me over for the first couple of years, there's still something lovely about using the ceremony as a bridge to our hospital years, during which we actually get to work with the patients and learn about medicine in a more hands-on way.

Newbie MD + M3 right there :) It's so weird that I actually get to say that I'm dating a doctor now! That's going to take a while to sink in.
Side note - The top 3 photos were taken by Mike Kittrell of the Mobile Press Register, who tackled photographing the event for my school.
