Hello from the second week of third year!  Wow does it feel amazing to be here.  I'm still a week out, I think, from getting my Step 1 results, so basically everyday finds me in at least one moment of blind panic.  Blergh.

I talked a bit about taking Step 1 in my last month's update, so I guess that's old news at this point.  A good chunk of June was taken up by going on vacation with my family in Spain - which hopefully I'll get around to blogging about at some point, although, considering I still haven't even touched our trip to Peru last summer...maybe don't get your hopes up, haha.

Since arriving back home, pretty much everything has revolved around third year.  We had our white coat ceremony on the 19th, followed by a week of orientation before finally starting our rotations last week.  I'm on my OB clerkship first; I started the first of 3 weeks of obstetrics last week by doing shifts on Labor & Delivery, after which I'll spend a week each on Gyn oncology, Gyn surgery, and outpatient clinic.  I can't even adequately describe how amazing the past week has been!  I've gotten to scrub in on eight C-sections so far and I delivered one baby vaginally as guided by my resident.  On Sunday I spent a good chunk of my shift working with one of the new interns in the Evaluation Center at Children's and Women's and got to do a few pelvic exams on real humans for the first time.  Last week I worked the morning shift so I rounded on the postpartum moms in the morning and presented my small number of patients to the attending.  I even wrote a couple of patient notes on Friday!  Which, oddly enough, was one of the most nerve-racking parts of the entire experience so far.

I am so incredibly content with where I am in life right now.  That's pretty much sums it all up.
