Happy weekend! I have my first endo/repro exam on Monday, but I am absolutely loving this module so far so this is probably the most relaxed I've felt before an exam in all of med school. It's a bit disheartening to hear so many of my classmates confess to not knowing anything about how the female reproductive system works - even the girls. Like, how have you made this far into life with a uterus without not knowing what goes on with your parts every month? I don't know. I'm probably far too invested in reproductive health for my own good, so this bothers me.
Anyway, links! I'm trying to knock out this post quickly in between reviewing ILAs, so it's a bit on the light side again this week.
- Thought piece of the week - How doctors take women's pain less seriously. [see also - black children get less pain medicine than white children in the ER]
- Nuit Blanche in Paris sounds AMAZING.
- 50 small towns across America with the most beautiful fall foliage - shocker of all shockers, none of these places are particularly near me. [side note - is "leaf peeping" a term people actually use? it sounds so...stupid.]
- Stream Vanessa Carlton's new album! Just do it. It's amazing.
- 10 essential tips for the modern wine drinker - "you can always count on champagne." YES.
- A little {Frocktober} wishlist: this fun take on a shirtdress | this bold geometric print number | this fun floral frock | this simple little striped dress | and of course something in plaid
- And a song for the weekend. [I've been listening to this on repeat ALL WEEK. So good!]
