Thanksgiving this year felt loooooong overdue, as it arrived at the terminal end of my endo/repro module. After two exams and an OSCE I was ready to escape home for a few days, play with my dogs, and let my mom take care of me. It turned into quite a busy few days off, as we spent the majority of Wednesday pre-Black Friday shopping and prepping the food for the next day. We ventured downtown into Huntsville to explore the recently opened Whole Foods and failed miserably at picking out a bottle of real wine for the first holiday where we're all of legal age to drink. Some people are too set in their sparkling cider ways, it would seem.
Friends marathoning while all the cooking takes place. I don't know about you, but my Thanksgiving simply isn't complete without at least a few Friends holiday episodes. Especially since my family doesn't seem to have much interest in watching the Macy's parade anymore - we need a little something festive in the background, right?
I made myself a new holiday wreath! I took pictures to put up a quick tutorial later on, so keep your eyes peeled for the final product. :)
Dragged my family down to the back of our neighborhood for our annual session of Exasperate Kaity...aka, attempting to take holiday card pictures. We usually order from Minted or Tiny Prints every year, depending on which has the best sales during Thanksgiving week. This year Tiny Prints was offering 40% off cards, so it was declared the winner. Both companies offer beautiful quality products and a great selection of holiday designs, so if you're in the market for cards, either would be a safe bet.
Dad always has to cut the turkey with his electric knife, so we never get any of those lovely golden turkey on the table pictures.
Turkey, stuffing [which shall always be called stuffing, regardless of the fact that it never gets put inside the turkey], roasted cauliflower and brussels sprouts, sweet potato casserole, twice baked potato, and homemade Portuguese Easter bread. Yum.

I picked up this Santa hat/beard combo on sale at Michael's, and then we acquired the Dr. Seuss antler from Petco on Black Friday. Naturally, I had to snap a bunch of photos of the dogs looking ridiculous, and naturally they hated it. Goldy is usually semi-cooperative when it comes to letting me take pictures, but even she kept trying to slink off around the corner without being noticed.

Friday was full of shopping and eating leftovers, and in the evening we cranked up the Annie Get Your Gun [our random Christmas tradition] and set up our tree.
